Autonomous Mission Planning Method for Optical Imaging Satellites Based on Real-Time Cloud Cover Information

Cloud cover is an important factor limiting the earth observation efficiency of optical imaging satellites. Existing solutions include avoiding cloudy time windows by onboard cloud detectors and ground monitors, which are difficult to improve satellite in time. In order solve problem, firstly, a Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) Low (LEO) satellites cooperation scheme using information provided GEO meteorological guide LEO proposed, operation flow key elements this analyzed. Secondly, Fengyun-4 its mask (CLM) products Thirdly, autonomous mission planning algorithm based on real-time proposed. Computational results have demonstrated effectiveness proposed GEO–LEO taking actual orbit payload data Gaofen-1/2 as examples.
